Memento

TRAILER

CAST AND CREW
Leonard: Guy Pearce
Sammy Jankis: Stephen Tobolowsky

Writing Credits: Jonathan Nolan (short story Memento Mori)
Christopher Nolan (screenplay)
Cinematography:Wally Pfister (director of photography)
Editor: Dody Dorn

PLOT
The story revolves around Leonard, a claims officer whose wife is murdered during a freak break-in by a couple of junkies and he ends up with a head injury causing short term memory loss. His sole mission in life remains a cold-blooded revenge, reviving himself through a series of tatoos, notes and learning from the mistakes of Sammy Jenkis, a guy he came across during his claims-officer days with a similar condition.

REVIEW
THE most technically brilliant film and THE most explosive concept anyone has ever come up with in the history of cinema (if you say "ghajini" i will scream..it is the most PATHETIC remake ever made). Besides a fantastic storyline and excellent acting performances, the editing steals the show. Sequenced backwards, the entire movie begins with the technically last scene and ends with the first scene. The muffled narrative adds some sort of a realism to the movie. Also the concept of parellally moving cinema is the only i have ever seen(two different time lines of the story occuring simultaneously and moving towards each other to meet at a centre point). If i havent managed to scare you yet....this movie is a MUST watch for any serious cinema buff. Watch it how many ever times it takes for you to understand...and then watch it once more to spot all the "hidden" editing tricks (it took me five times to spot it). Last word...MUST "C"

CAST AND CREW
Jaguar Paw: Rudy Youngblood
Seven: Dalia Hernandez
Blunted: Jonathan Brewer
Flint Sky: Morris Birdyellowhead
Zero Wolf: Raoul Trujillo
Middle eye: Gerardo Taracena

Director: Mel Gibson
Cinematography: Dean Semler
Editor: Kevin Stitt & John Wright

PLOT
Set during the decline of the mighty Mayan civilization, the movie sets main focus on a village/tribe which is annexed by the Mayans to be sacrificed to please the sun god and hence avoid their decline. The protagonist is a young hunter called Jaguar Paw who intends to escape his captors and rescue his wife.

REVIEW
For one thing, anyone can tell this is a typical Mel Gibson movie because
A) The entire movie runs in a weird dead language (in this case it’s Mayan. Passion of the Christ was Armenian). So don’t forget to pop on your reading glasses for the scrawny subtitles. B) The movie theme is against conventions, beliefs and superstitions. Though the overbearing theme is quite unclear, Gibson manages to portray the importance of superstition and misinterpretations that struck fear in the hearts of the Mayans quite clearly. Fantastic visuals and cinematography, especially during the forest chases. Commendable acting by the cast, especially for a bunch of people who had no idea what they were speaking. Though the humour seems unnecessary and odd in some places. All in all, a not-so-bad watch.

The story is lovely and Aaron Eckhart does a fantastic role of playing the smooth talking lobbyist
the film is a real good watch for all kind of movie goers...
It's educational, emotional, funny, everything you need to make a good movie.

TRAILER

CAST AND CREW
Alex Fletcher - Hugh Grant
Sophie Fisher - Drew Barrymore
Cora Corman - Haley Bennett
Chris Riley - Brad Garrett
Rhonda Fisher - Kristen Johnston

Director - Marc Lawrence
Script- Marc Lawrence
Producer -

PLOT
A washed up 80's "has been" Alex fletcher might have been the rage in those days, but these days he's lucky to get a gig playing at the local county fair. Just when it seems as if things couldn't get any more bleak for the dejected has-been rocker, reigning pop diva Cora Corman invites him to write and perform a duet that would give his career the much need boost.
But Fletcher though very good with melody, has never been good at writing lyrics.
In comes in Sophie, his 'plan-girl' who has a flair for words.
Unfortunately the beguiling Sophie is still reeling from a recent break-up with newly famous novelist Sloan Cates , and she isn't quite sure if she's ready for any kind of collaboration right now -- romantic or otherwise.

REVIEW
Although the plot is fairly simple.. boy meets girl, girl helps boy. boy falls in love.
the movie is really nice.. more than romance.. it's the comedy part that keeps this romantic comedy going... I was in splits when i heard Pop! goes my heart.
The sarcasm was topnotch and sometimes if your not attentive you just might miss it... although at times it seems like Lawrence tried a bit to hard to get you to laugh.
The songs were as i mentioned earlier, amazing who would have thought that Hugh could shake his hip like that and actually sing...
I liked was the way Cora(who's a bit of a mix of Britney/Cristina and Shakira) is shown as modern day female pop star.

RATING
funny.. entertaining.. 3.. if not at the theater.. must catch the DVD..

CAST AND CREW
Chris Gardner - Will Smith
Linda - Thandie Newton
Christopher - Jaden Smith
Jay Twistle - Brian Howe
Martin Frohm - James Karen
Director - Gabriele Muccino
Script - Steve Conrad
Producer - Will Smith

PLOT
Set in early-'80s San Francisco, the film portrays the hard times and eventual comeback of Chris Gardner, a suddenly single salesman who has custody of his son, but finds that providing for the two of them is a challenge in the increasingly unstable economic climate.
Chris then in an attempt to fulfill his dream.. enrolls him self into a stockbroker internship with low odds of getting the job.. this choice makes his wife Linda leave him.
Even as the odds become more daunting day by day.. Chris clings on to his dream.
Together, father and son struggle through homelessness, jail time, tax seizure and the overall punishing despair in a quest that would make Gardner a respected millionaire.

REVIEW
This is the first time Will and his son have stared together... and I must say a brilliant job by both! I found the move a little on the slow side but will smith makes up for it as he seems to be forever running after something..
the movie was really good adaptation of Gardner Rich's life(slightly exaggerated in the movie)..although the movie didn't really represent the time all that well..but the pain and its emotions were very well portrayed..
other notable things was probably the lighting and the casting which has to be admired.
another negative aspect I found is that the movie conveys the message that happiness can be found only in money..
Otherwise an outstanding movie that got Will both the golden globe and the Oscar for the Best actor..

RATING
Tough... would give it a 4 on 5..

a little late .but this movie deserves to be reviewed for all the hype it created.

TRAILER

CAST AND CREW
Robert langdon-Tom Hanks
Agent Sophie Neveu-Audrey tautou
Sir Leigh Teabing-Ian McKellen
Captain Bezu Fache-Jean Reno
Silas-Paul Bettany
Bishop Manuel Aringarosa-Alfred Molina
director-Ron Howard
book by Dan Brown

PLOT
well this movie is all about Robert Langdon and the quest for the holy grail
.BUT. you wont be able to make out most of the movie..if you haven't read the book
my suggestion read the book

REVIEW
frankly..the movie is quite "un" understandable..unless of course if you have read the book
which makes everything easier..and the frankly the movie not worth watching
poor chemistry between Sophie(Audrey Tatou) and Robert Langdon(tom hanks)
just says it all,bad casting and not very good acting
this is must not c movie in the theater..its worth a DVD if you've read the book
but then again..you're better of leaving things to your imagination.

RATING
I give this a movie a poor 2 of 5..but if u feel differently let us know

When they are separated by Sophie's family, the broken-hearted Eduard travels to the Far East and fifteen years later he returns to Vienna as a famous illusionist with a different name, Eisenheim.
The supernaturally talented magician attempts to undermine the rigid social structure by winning the love of Sophie who is currently engaged to the Crown Prince Leopold.
As the tension mounts between the Eisenheim and Leopold, urbane Chief Inspector Uhl finds his sympathy toward Eisenheim growing despite his formal obligations to the powerful prince.

REVIEW
Neil Burger's cinematic adaptation of Pulitzer Prize-winning author Steven Millhauser's short story has certainly got a lot of charm and "illusion".
Although many say that the movie has got a surprise ending..
{Spoiler}
I for one guessed pretty early into the movie that Sophie would live.. the only question was the how.{/Spoiler}
The direction was outstanding and the setting was brilliant.. although not one of Norton's best performances.. The movie was nominated for the Oscars and did win 4 other awards..
In the end.. the movie isn't a "must see" if you ask me.. but if you get the opportunity don't skip the movie..

RATING
I personally would give it 3 on 5 mainly for the Cinematography..

please feel free to rate how you like the movie!!

In all honesty..I was impressed with the way this movie was made
Christopher Nolan could do no wrong.with a lovely cast (more or less same as Batman Begins)
brilliant script, with plenty lovely plot twists, and really good performneces from all the actors(Hugh Jackman in particular )...really makes this movie worth the admission rates.
The cinematography, post production were really outstanding.
A story told in such a brillaint way must be credited by simply walkin to the nearest theatre and watching the movie .
